Regenerative comparator with floating capacitor for energy?harvesting applications

An energy-efficient regenerative comparator design is unveiled. A floating capacitor utilized to protect the complete discharge of preamplifier output nodes by NMOS input transistors. The introduced flipped around allow PMOS cross-couple transistor charge reutilization and elevate amplification gain at integration phase. By increasing gain, common mode voltage latch that toggled within some delay increased, too. Therefore, stage activated strongly, regeneration reduced. Simulation results corroborate proposed technique reduces power consumption input-referred offset more than 60% compared with similar previous works. Furthermore, referred noise are improved 30%.
